Ohio Galaxies/BSA Celtic Announce u13 and u14 Age Group Collaboration for 2022-2023 Season

Players and Parents,
BSA Celtic and Ohio Galaxies FC are programs that are a part of the Beavercreek Soccer Association. The programs share a registration platform with Demosphere and work together to provide a player development platform for players from u6 – u19.
Beginning with the 2022-2023 season, BSA Celtic and Ohio Galaxies FC announce their expanded collaboration in the u13 (2010) and u14 (2009) age groups for the 2022 – 2023 season in order to provide enhanced competitive opportunities for our players across regional and national platforms.
We are thrilled to announce that our program has been selected to participate in the USYS Elite 64 national competition platform. Elite 64 features competition in six age groups: u13, u14, u15, u16, u17 and u18/u19.
We are one of the few programs in the country selected for inclusion in Elite 64 for both the boys and girls program.
Elite 64 is the elite club based platform in the USYS National League and offers participating clubs an enhanced competitive model built around league play, national tournament opportunities and qualitative and quantitative performance analysis for players.
We are excited to announce that our girls program will be an inaugural member of the ECNL Great River Regional League. ECNL is managed by US Club Soccer and includes both national and regional league platforms.
This club based platform will include competition in the following girls ages groups: u13, u14, u15, u16, u17 and u18/u19.
ECNL is operated and managed so as to ensure a consistent environment and level of professionalism across all leagues and providing a path for more players to reach their fullest potential.
BSA Celtic families with players in the 2009 and 2010 age groups will receive details this week about u13-u14 age group meetings which will provide additional details about our expanded programming for these age groups for the 2022-2023 season.
It is a credit to the players and coaches in our programs that we have been recognized and selected for inclusion in these regional and national competitive platforms and we look forward to continuing to offer a quality program committed to player development for soccer players across the Miami Valley.
Please look for expanded information this week providing more detailed information about our programming for all age groups for the 2022-2023 season.

Lindsay’s Law: Sudden Cardiac Arrest in Youth Athletes

What is Sudden Cardiac Arrest?

A Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) occurs when the heart suddenly and unexpectedly stops beating, cutting off blood flow to the brain and other vital organs.  Sudden cardiac arrest is fatal if not treated immediately, most often by a defibrillator.

Who is Lindsay?

Senate Bill 252 is named for national heart health advocate and former Miss Ohio Lindsay Davis who suffers from a heart condition and has since dedicated her career to raising awareness of this potentially fatal condition.

“Sudden cardiac arrest is the number one killer of student athletes,” said Davis. “At any moment I could have died because coaches and teachers had no idea this was even a possibility for someone who looked as healthy as I did at that age.”
