U14 Girls BSA Celtic 01 Blue 2016 Finalists in OSYSA President’s Cup Midwest Regionals
Celtic U14 Girls BSA Celtic 01 Blue played in the Presidents Cup Midwest Regional in Westfield, IN the weekend of June 16-19. The girls were placed in a preliminary bracket with state representatives from IN, WI and SD. After a 1-1 tie against IN to begin the tournament, Celtic posted a 7-0 win over WI and a 4-0 win over SD to place first in their bracket and advance to the semi-final. The semifinal would match Celtic against AFAFillies-Wyland out of MO, who also won their bracket. Celtic drew their 3rd shut out in a row, advancing to the Final with a 2-0 win. In the final, Celtic met Eclipse Elite USYSA 20 out of IL. The girls fell 1-0 in the Final in a very hard fought match, finishing as Finalists. Overall in the Midwest Regional, Celtic went 3-1-1, scored 14 goals, gave up only 2 and recorded 3 shutouts. Three Celtic players placed in the top 10 overall goal scorers for the tournament, Bailey Sedlak in 2nd with 5 goals, Molly Buckiewicz in 3rd with 4 goals and Brooklyn Langford tied for 5th with 2 goals.
