Training Update for 2016-2017

As part of our overall restructuring of our competitive program, the following changes are being implemented in the BSA Celtic u9 – u12 age groups. The main focus of these changes is to ensure that the club provides an improved level of support and a consistent player development model across the u9 – u12 platform. A balance of training in conjunction with league and tournament play will provide players with an environment for their growth and development in the game of soccer.

Blue and White teams in the u9 – u12 age groups will all have BSA Celtic staff coaches

Red and Green teams in the u9 – u12 age groups will continue to have BSA Celtic parent coaches. However, in order to increase player development within these teams, the Red and Green teams in the u9 – u12 age groups will have 2 BSA Celtic training sessions each week during the fall and spring season with the club training staff.

All teams in the u9 – u12 age groups will have a defined and specified winter training program to ensure that all of our teams remain engaged during the winter and continue to have skill development throughout the season.

U9 and U10 player fees will include 4 tournaments: Haunted Classic, Creek Classic and 2 additional tournaments during the seasonal year

U11 and u12 Blue and White team player fees will include Haunted Classic, Creek Classic, President’s Cup or State Cup and 3 additional tournaments during the seasonal year

U11 and u12 Red and Green teams in the u9 – u12 age groups will include Haunted Classic, Creek Classic and 3 additional tournaments during the seasonal year.

These changes will increase the overall skill development of each child and create a more unified club environment.  This further serves to ensure that teams are operating at similar levels with the expectations for player development throughout the fall, winter and spring.
